i'm a year 10 history student and i was wondering whether you could tell me what you think of my essy on "explain why women failed to gain the vote by 1914" sorry it's so long
thanks
Although today women have the equal right to vote, very few actually use the right to get involved in politics. However 90 years ago, many of our female ancestors struggled to gain female suffrage. By the time of 1914, they have dreaded over their continuous failures over their right to vote. The factors that led to their failures were complex and intricate, but by analyzing the main events and important figures in depth we will be able to see why women failed to gain the vote by 1914.
Women failed to get the right to vote in 1909 to 1914 because of many reasons of which include:
The suffragettes and the suffrage's, the suffrage's where to violent not law abiding meaning that they spent lots of time in and out of jail and this made the government think that they would be unable to think rationally. Whereas the suffragettes where to law abiding and too peaceful making the government and some of the higher class society think that they were weak minded and unable to think for themselves and therefore should not be allowed the vote.Another main social reason was that while both the suffragists and suffragettes wanted the same outcome, they used different methods to achieve their goal, and therefore their campaign was divided. The suffragists used moderate campaigning, but were overshadowed by the suffragettes, whose militant and violent approach made them be viewed as terrorists. For example, they smashed windows, chained themselves to railings and burned down buildings. Once arrested and in prison, they went on hunger strike. Men generally assumed that all women were suffragettes, and therefore the suffragists and their moderate ideas were ignored. Also, since there was no organization between the two groups, the overall campaign was weakened considerably.
The expectations of women. In the 1900s it was expected that women should stay at home and look after the family. Women didt have jobs and they had to sort out the home and have guests over to make their husbands seem high up and important and so that they could promote them and the business.
The influences of religion, religion where in favor of man and believed that women were inferior and that there job was to have children and look after the children. This meant that women were not allowed the vote because people were religious so they didt let women vote because as far as they were concerned women were inferior and unable to make up their minds about who to vote for.
Women were not as well educated as men so were subject to inferior jobs. Men believed women were not as intelligent as they were, and therefore wouldt understand about economics.
Queen Victoria who was very famous because of the British Empire she also stereotyped women. Traditional roles were cooking and cleaning, looking after the family or if women did manage to get a job outside the home it would be either a domestic servant or a nurse.
The main social reason was that most men had very entrenched views of women. They believed that the role of women was for them to be wives and mothers, and to work at home. This was justified by religion and believed to be God-given. Even the monarch at that time, Queen Victoria, agreed with that, and said that men were meant to protect women, as women were the weaker sex. It was also a common belief that women were less intelligent than men, and therefore wouldt understand the complexity of voting.
To conclude, women did not gain the right to vote between 1900 and 1914 for many reasons. These reasons can be grouped into social, political and economic. The social reasons were that men had entrenched views of women, the suffragists and suffragettes both had different approaches and tactics, and the Queen was not in favor of women gaining the vote. The political reasons were that the government was preoccupied dealing with other problems and that the government itself was divided, and the economic reason was that men believed women could not handle money.

There appears to be a lot of grammatical and spelling errors here. You also need a clear and concise thesis statement such as: "Among the reasons that women did not gain suffrage by 1914 were the expectations of women, the influence of religion and poor education." You would also have to expand on the expectations of women portion of this essay.
As an essay is not too long. It's really important that you use connective words: such as, whereas, therefore, although, for example, to conclude and ect. That shows that you can connect and answer the answer fully. Do not use too much information on one subject like you did on sufragettes. For example, do the second paragraph like that:
"Women failed to get the right to vote in 1909 to 1914 because of many reasons of which include:
The suffragettes and the suffrage's, the suffrage's where to violent not law abiding meaning that they spent lots of time in and out of jail and this made the government think that they would be unable to think rationally. Whereas the suffragettes where to law abiding and too peaceful making the government and some of the higher class society think that they were weak minded and unable to think for themselves and therefore should not be allowed the vote.the suffragettes, whose militant and violent approach made them be viewed as terrorists. For example, they smashed windows, chained themselves to railings and burned down buildings."
Don't do the essay to complicated and hard to read – keep it simple with the details you only need. I know, you might think that if you put more details the examiner will give you extra marks – naive, but I thought that too. Always refer and repeat the question after each paragraph for exp: "Therefore, the women failed to gain vote by 1914".
Hope it helps. :)
The biggest thing to remember is Once a cheater–Always a cheater! If she cheats with you, even if she divorced her husband and married you, she'll still be a cheater.Don't sell yourself short!
You cheated on your wife and now you're upset because your married mistress cheated on you. You obviosly have no morals or principles. Sort yourself out if not for your sake at least for your wife and children.
In this world there are few type of humans which dont live a normal life, they lack in some character and you got to understand that she is found of MEN and she is not bothered about anyone family.you need to understand that you have a family and no matter how much ever u cheat ur wife and family you cannot live happily, because you are a normal person.Take decision strongly and lead a happy family life with your wife.go away to diffferent place and forget everything and lead a good life.ALL THE BEST.
Sorry to hear about your predicament. You've fallen for a no-good girl. It's unfortunate but it happens.I'm afraid, as you probably know, there is not an easy solution for this. You pretty much just have to keep on keeping on.Try to remind yourself that this woman has left a trail of destruction behind her, and has hurt many people she has come into contact with, and the more time you spend away from her the better. The pain will lessen, eventually.Fill your time with things you enjoy, and try to build on the relationships you have with your children and wife.Think of it as a fresh start. You can do things right this time.
You know the answer. I think you just needed to vent and to hear others tell you what you already know. Drop her and beg forgiveness from your wife. Also, you and your wife need to find out what is missing in your marriage that made you go down this horrid path with a nasty woman.

Generally you stop seeing them since she was never yours to begin with.
"They really didn't cross the border… It crossed them."
I'm sorry but that's a completely unfair statement. Our borders are our borders. You're the one making this about race.I don't care who it is coming in, I am completely color blind in that sense… I care that anyone is crossing in here without going through our process and becoming a legal part of this country.
But, I will stop and be fair here. The immigration issue is not easily resolved, even by our smartest politicians. But doing nothing is just as bad for us as being xenophobic. Our country is filling up, though, and we cannot just let anybody in.We won't be able to support ourselves eventually, financially.
I personally am for putting up tougher border security simply because the drug cartels and crime on the other side of the Mexican border is more out of control than it's ever been.
Why not just invite everybody in.Then there would be no other country.People like yourself have changed. They want to do good for the poor illegal immigrants. What they used to do is something like what the Peace Corp was created to do.They used to put their money where their mouth is.Instead of opening up the border they used to go where the people with the problem lived and help them with community projects to better their life, educate them and eventually get them to set up their own commerce and education system. Now they just say ya'll come and we will give you everything we used to have.
Xenophobia is just another form of racism that is so systemic to the American mindset.
