ronat Asked: does it cost extra to add tracking onto a package being shipped? if so generally how much?
I've started my own home business and Im a little new at this, i have some questions about sending packages. If i wanted to put tracking on something going out, does it cost more to do so? and if it does generally how much?
Thank you in advance

It is about $1 more. You should always track your packages, unless the item is very cheap, so the buyer can't claim he didn't get it. For about $3, you can require a signature to pick up the package. I would do this for items of $200 or more.
If you go to www.usps.com they have an excellent estimator for shipping (I believe it is called calculate shipping). You can look at all their options as far as tracking #s, requiring signatures, Priority Mail, etc and it will tell you exactly how much each option would cost.
